About Me

IMG_9161Dominique Gebru (aka dommdotcom) is an Education Volunteer serving with Peace Corps in Jamaica. This blog tells the story of her journey to discover the heart and soul of Jamaica.

She hails from the wine country of Northern California and grew up with an Ethiopian father and an American mother. Her hobbies include running, yoga, crafting and trying new things.

She works in a small primary school as a literacy advisor in rural Trelawny and enjoys chatting up taxi drivers, making curried everything and dancing with her host sisters. To reach her, drop a line to dominique(dot)gebru(at)gmail(dot)com.

  1. Hey dominique. I’m a peace corps volunteer serving in Ethiopia. I thought it was cool you have an Ethiopian father! We are both finalists in the Peace Corps Blog it Home so I’m sure i will see you in October but I just wanted to say hey and tell you I’ve enjoyed your blog so far! keep it up and congratulations .
